Residential Treatment

Inpatient rehab built around you — not around a schedule.

Residential treatment at Valor Health is the deepest, most transformative level of care we offer. You live on our retreat-quality campus for 30 to 90 days, surrounded by clinicians who know your story, your goals, and your healing pace.

Recovery is not a sprint. It is the careful rebuilding of a life — and it deserves real time and real care.

Who residential treatment is for

Residential care is the right level for patients who need 24/7 structure to interrupt the patterns of active addiction. That includes people stepping down from detox, people who have tried outpatient and relapsed, people facing severe co-occurring mental health symptoms, and anyone whose home environment is not safe enough to support early recovery. If your life has become unmanageable, residential is the level that gives you a complete reset.

  • Step-down from medical detox
  • Prior outpatient or PHP relapse
  • Severe co-occurring depression, anxiety, PTSD
  • Unsafe or unstable home environment

Your weekly clinical schedule

Every day blends evidence-based therapy with experiential and holistic work. You meet with your individual therapist 3 times per week, your psychiatrist weekly, and participate in multiple daily group therapy sessions. Mornings include yoga, breathwork or movement; afternoons hold trauma-focused work, skills groups, and process therapy; evenings are for community, reflection and rest.

  • Individual therapy 3x/week
  • Psychiatry weekly (more if needed)
  • Process & skills group daily
  • Family therapy weekly

Therapeutic modalities

Our clinicians are trained across the modalities that genuinely change lives — not just the ones a typical insurance audit demands. EMDR for trauma. Internal Family Systems for the internal conflict that drives compulsion. DBT for emotional regulation. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for thought patterns. Somatic Experiencing for the body's role in healing. Twelve-step facilitation for those who want it; SMART Recovery and Refuge Recovery for those who do not.

  • EMDR, IFS, Somatic Experiencing
  • CBT, DBT, ACT
  • 12-step, SMART, Refuge Recovery
  • Motivational interviewing throughout

Holistic & experiential care

Addiction is a whole-body, whole-life condition. We treat it that way. Daily yoga and meditation, equine therapy, art and music therapy, ropes-course work, nutrition counseling with a chef-designed menu, fitness training, and time in nature are not extras — they are core to how we help your nervous system relearn safety, joy and presence without substances.

  • Yoga, meditation, breathwork
  • Equine, art and music therapy
  • Adventure & experiential outings
  • Nutrition & fitness programming

Family integration

Addiction lives in the family, not just the individual. From week two onward, we invite loved ones into the work — weekly family therapy sessions (in person or virtual), monthly family weekends, family education programming, and a closed support community for the long road. Many of our families describe this as the part of treatment they did not know they needed.

  • Weekly family therapy
  • Monthly family weekend intensives
  • Multi-family group programming
  • Codependency & boundary education

Length of stay & step-down

Most patients stay 30 to 60 days, with 90 days reserved for those with complex trauma, severe co-occurring conditions, or prior treatment episodes. Length of stay is a clinical decision — never an insurance one. From residential we step you down to PHP (with optional sober living), then IOP, then alumni and aftercare so the transition home is gradual and supported.

  • Clinical length-of-stay decisions
  • Step-down to PHP with sober living option
  • Continued IOP and alumni programming
  • Lifelong alumni community
